Stefanie Mockler: Being a young mom with academic and career ambitions left me keenly aware of the challenges women face in society. 16 years later, my career is focused on developing leaders with a passion for helping women rise. In debating a lack of gender diversity in executive roles, I often hear: “let’s focus on the right person for the role, not gender.” Damn, if only it were that simple. An unfortunate reality is that of 100 C-Suite roles, 96 are held by men! Only 4 women are the “right person”? To drive change, men with power must be part of the solution; yet, many are leaning out in the face of social movements (#MeToo), and understandably so. My talk will focus on inclusive ways to get men to lean in, provide access and sponsorship, and allow us to truly focus on the right person for the job.
